Sweaters are rad, especially from our graphic team. But so is the fabric story behind our graphic sweaters.
Tanguis Cotton is a unique variety of cotton grown is Peru, believed to produce some of the best cotton in the world by a combination of climate, soil, and altitude. The cotton in our sweaters is harvested by hand, in contrast to some industrial sized operations. Machine harvesting cotton is an efficient way, but not always the best for the integrity of the cotton. We prefer cotton grown and harvested the traditional way. Especially if you are wearing it on your back. You want a sweater not a back scratcher.
Is it sustainable? The Tanguis Cotton in our Graphic Sweaters is grown is Peru, and once harvested, spun into yarn, and made into tees in Peru not far from where it is grown. The impact is minimal, everything is done in Peru from sowing the seed to the finished product, graphic and all. Once the sweaters are ready to go they are shipped out to our warehouse in Montana.
