The Hawaiian islands have their own slang, just like we do here in Montana (stuff like "Cowboy Up"). Any culture with a strong sense of belonging and identity does. And in Hawaii they often say "Shoots" when making an acknowledgment. Such as, "We go to da beach, brah? Shoots!"
